“I was the poor man in the corner,
Deprived of basic needs.
Though hundreds could have helped me
I was just a mouth to feed.

But one day, all this was different
And a man reached out to me.
Proper clothing, food, and shelter
He had given generously.

Soon, he left me all alone
And he went his separate way.
But the head start that I needed
He had given me that day.

He was that true friend people needed,
Who would help without restraints.
So I swore I’d be just like him
And live a life just like a saint.

And that’s why I helped you, stranger.”
The man said, and left his seat.
“Oh, please do me one small favour:
Go and change those lonely streets.”
