“The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law”.

This is the motto of the state of Missouri; home to just under six million people and, as of a few hours ago, my least favourite place on earth. You may be asking yourself, “Timothy, what’s wrong with Missouri? It’s a lovely state. I mean, what did it ever do to you?”

Well, to answer your question, I agree. Missouri isn’t that bad of a place; heck, I wouldn’t mind visiting. The only problem is that that horrible state gave birth to “him”. Now, you Harry Potter fans, don’t get overly excited. I am not talking about “He Who Shall Not Be Named.” I am referring to one of my least favourite people on the planet. But, considering I don’t even know his name, I guess that’s a little harsh.

All I know is that “he” stands in the way of my happiness. For, you see, “he” is the one person interfering with my love affairs and he managed to do so without knowing I even exist. He has stolen from me something I was not even given the chance to obtain… This stranger, this shadowy figure, standing in the recesses of my mind has taken away my one true love.

I understand that the term “one true love” is more than a little excessive and sounds like it came out of a Disney movie but I can’t think of any other way to describe it. I guess the term “infatuation”, though formal, would better apply.

In any case, all I know is that she chose him and not me; leaving me full of “Missouri”.
